Summary
As North Korea once again faces famine, the Institute hosted an event April 30, 2008, to release two new papers by senior fellow Marcus Noland and collaborators based on a pathbreaking survey of more than 1,300 North Korean refugees in China. North Korean refugees Kim Seung Min, Kang Su Jin, and Kim Young-il spoke at the event. Deputy director and senior fellow Adam S. Posen was the moderator. Sin-U Nam, vice chairman of the North Korean Freedom Coalition, provided translation for the Korean speakers.
